According to El Nacional, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has set his sights on Barcelona’s rising midfield star Fermín López. The Premier League champions are reportedly ready to table a €60 million bid for the 22-year-old Spaniard.

Fermín represents a new breed of La Masia graduates—technically gifted, offensively minded, and fearless in his forward runs. He’s a classic attacking midfielder who thrives on late arrivals into the box and combines flair with tactical intelligence.
Since his promotion to the first team under Xavi Hernández two summers ago, Fermín has grown into a key figure. His importance only increased under Hansi Flick, who seems to value the unique qualities he brings to the squad.
However, while Flick sees him as a priority, competition for starting spots in Barcelona remains fierce. Ironically, the same could be said of Guardiola’s Manchester City—a club not easily cracked by newcomers. That raises the question: would the move truly benefit the player?
